Movie Madness
This has been quite the summer for movies so far. There has been sequel after sequel coming out along with some new stuff as well. I feel like I have been at the movies every weekend this summer. Here comes my Top 3 for the summer so far.
1.) Transformers - This is simply the best movie of the summer. It is not just an action movie where a lot of stuff gets blown up. Well, there is a lot of action and a lot of stuff does get blown up, so maybe it is. I don't remember much about the cartoon, but if you do, that makes it even better apparently. If you go see only one movie this summer, let this movie be it. It is a "go to the big, stadium seating theater" type of movie.
2.) Oceans 13 - This one was running at the top until I saw Transformers and is pretty much the opposite when it comes to the style of movie. It is in the mold of the original Ocean's 11 movie, but the plot starts right away in this movie and never slows down. Pay attention and go to the bathroom before it starts. The cast is fantastic and the acting is wonderful. I still want to be Rusty Ryan (Brad Pitt's character).
3.) Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End - This is here because it is what it is. It is Pirates and any conclusion to this series almost had to crack the top 3. It is solid. It could have been better, but it could have been worse too. So, I will take the middle ground as a compromise. It is another "big theater" movie, so it is worth the cost to see it.
If another movie takes over the top spot for me, I will be sure to post up the great praise of it. I have yet to see Die Hard and I know The Bourne Ultimatum is still to come, so things could happen. You never know.
